Green RV to be Shown at the Florida RV SuperShow

RV enthusiast Brian Brawdy is out to demonstrate that RVs can be eco-friendly without sacrificing creature comforts through a vehicle called the Green RV that’s scheduled for an appearance at the 2009 Florida RV SuperShow.

His Green RV, which is built atop a Ford F-350 Super Duty 4×4 pickup truck, has been driven across the 48 contiguous states. A run to Alaska was postponed at the last minute due to heavy winter storms, but Brawdy looks to embark to the 49th state in February.

The Green RV is powered by Ford’s Power Stroke V-8 diesel engine, while also concentrating solar power through the use of six solar panels and a wind power turbine to help power the vehicle’s various electrical appliances. The Green RV also captures, stores, and sanitizes rainwater for later use, but doesn’t skimp on comfort and interior amenities. The vehicle features all the usual RV bells and whistles, including a complete kitchen, a queen-sized bed, a full bath, entertainment center, and button-controlled sliding walls.

Brawdy, who has been referred to as an “Outdoor Adventure Expert,” “Environmental Pioneer,” and “Eco-RVer,” is the organizer of the Wonder Explore Believe Tour, which encourages conservation while exploring the great outdoors.

The 2009 Florida RV SuperShow will be held at the Florida State Fairgrounds from January 13 through 18.
