Evergreen Recreational Vehicles, a new RV company formed in December 2008, has completed the purchase of the Coachmen Complex in Middlebury Indiana.
Coachmen Industries, Inc. announced earlier that it had closed on the sale of nearly all of the assets of its Recreation Vehicle business to Forest River, Inc. The sale had been overwhelmingly approved by the Shareholders the previous week. Coachmen headquarters will remain in Elkhart Indiana, and the company will now focus exclusively on its systems-built housing division and its growing specialty vehicle business.

RV maker Monaco Coach Corporation (MNC: NYSE) announced today that it received a letter from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on January 6 advising that it was no longer in compliance with the exchange’s standard requirements for a common stock. Under NYSE rules, a common stock must maintain an average closing price above one dollar per share for 30 consecutive trading days.

Imagine taking three young boys, loading them into one RV, and traveling 13,000 miles of open road over the course of eight weeks. Although it sounds like the pilot to a sitcom, it was a reality for the Tison family.
The family of five left their home in East Knoxville in October, and pulled into their driveway one week before Christmas. They visited over 25 states, went into Canada and Mexico, saw countless landmarks, and made a lifetime of memories.

The elections are over and the political landscape has changed, but many issues important to the RV industry remain in play in Washington, D.C., including expanding credit opportunities for RV purchases, CAFE standards that protect the availability of tow vehicles, and protecting the second home mortgage interest deduction for RVs and the Travel Promotion Act to boost tourism.
